mita sneakers Celebrates the 20th Anniversary of New Balance's 580
mita tackles the 1996 release alongside HECTIC co-founders Naotake Magara and Yoshifumi Egawa.
Way back in 1996 when New Balance first dropped its wedge-heeled 580, mita sneakers creative director Shigeyuki Kunii tapped the HECTIC crew to give the trail runner a makeover. Now, two decades later, the Tokyo-based shop is doing the same, bringing in HECTIC co-founders Naotake Magara (now at A-1 Clothing) and Yoshifumi Egawa (aka YOPPI, the man behind Hombre Niño) for a 20th anniversary nod to the OG. Coming in the form of a tricolored MRT edition, the kicks sport a contemporary spin thanks to seamless-sealed construction, ripstop paneling and REVlite cushioning.
Dubbed the “Magic Stick,” the special release will soon be available both in-store and online from mita.
