Concepts x New Balance "City Rivalry" Pack
New York or Boston, take your pick.
Sneaker specialists Concepts turns 20 this year, and the boutique is celebrating with a bang. Linking with fellow Boston icon New Balance Athletics, Inc., the two brands have created a special sneaker pack that pits the shop’s two hometowns of New York City and Boston (Cambridge, to be exact) against each other with two contrasting designs that celebrate all things made in the USA.
As a respectful nod to America’s past and present iconic baseball teams, two NB models are presented in premium suede uppers that are accented with pebbled leather reflective tongues, leather linings and custom Concepts-branded footbeds. The “Boston” 998 is swathed in a rust red colorway inspired by the red clay of baseball diamonds, while the “New York City” 997 boasts a familiar teal green hue that’s borrowed from a medal from the early 1900s for bravery amongst NY public safety officers. Each model also comes in a custom-designed box fashioned after a baseball game snack favorite.
Catch the Concepts x New Balance 997 “City Rivalry” pack when it releases exclusively at Concepts NYC beginning April 9 with a subsequent online release April 16 for a price of $240 USD. On April 11, a limited release will be launching at ‘47 Brand‘s Boston store location.
