The Avengers Will Indeed Meet the Guardians of the Galaxy on the Big Screen
Star-Lord is confirmed for ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’

Captain America: Civil War — Spider-Man and all — is undoubtedly the biggest Marvel flick to date, but the next Avengers entries look like they’re going to up the ante. While the new movie is bringing both Spider-Man and Black Panther into the fold, 2018’s first Avengers: Infinity War installment will include what may be an even bigger introduction: the Guardians of the Galaxy. Speaking to comicbook.com at the Civil War premiere, Anthony Russo — who’s directing Infinity War alongside his brother, Joe — confirmed that Star-Lord will be thrown into the fray:
The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that’s happened before in the MCU so you don’t want to get into spoilers but I’m a big fan of what James Gunn has done. [Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you’d be very excited.
Joe Russo went on to tease Thor’s involvement in the flick:
I’m excited to work with Thor. They’re doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he’s gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he’s gonna have a real emotional motivation after that.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6 while Avengers: Infinity War Parts I and II are currently slated for May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 releases, respectively.
