Jordan Brand Pays Homage to Michael Jordan's Infamous 'Letterman' Appearance
Jordan Brand takes it back to ‘86.

Fresh off a historic 63-point performance against the Boston Celtics in the NBA playoffs (still a single-game playoff record to this day), a then 23-year-old Michael Jordan appeared on Late Night with David Letterman back in 1986 to talk, among other things, the infamous “Bred” Air Jordan 1. Now, three decades later, Nike and Jordan Brand are taking it back to ‘86 with a “Letterman” edition of the kicks. A nod to MJ’s bold attire on the show, the kicks come in bright red leather as deep navy patent leather accents take care of the collar and Swoosh. Additional navy accents also hit the wings logo, nylon tongue, laces, lining and rubber outsole while a contrasting white midsole finishes things off. As an added bonus, the kicks even sport custom “On Air” graphic footbeds.
Expect the crimson-colored “Letterman” Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG to hit Jordan stockists April 30 for $160 USD.
