But if you look closely at that list, there’s an actress who’s making bank and her name is just as recognizable as all those guys. She’s none other than Scarlett Johansson. While the 32-year-old is already on the top 10 all-time highest grossing Hollywood actors/actresses list, she made sure to add to it in 2016, leading a top-notch class of actors and actresses in bringing home the bacon.
Led by her role as Black Widow in the Marvel universe, Johansson brought in $1.15 billion USD playing the character in Captain America: Civil War which also helped propel co-stars Chris Evans (Captain America) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) into a second and third place tie. The leading lady of Hollywood edged into first place with $63 million USD from Hail, Caesar! The calculations don’t include animated films which would’ve bolstered ScarJo’s numbers even more but nonetheless this is an outstanding accomplishment.
