Bristol Los Angeles Offers a Sneak Peek at Its Forthcoming "Collection 002" Range
Inspired by iconic NBA players such as Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady.

Contemporary menswear label Bristol Los Angeles has unveiled its Fall/Winter 2016 collection, offering garments that “juxtapose structure with spontaneity, and refinement with levity.” The inspiration behind the brand’s forthcoming “Collection 002” is two fold: on one hand by the dress of iconic NBA players including Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, and Tracy McGrady and on the other, by the notion that rules and guidelines, such as a uniform or dress code, actually force us to be as creative as ever. The inspiration also has personal roots for the co-founders of the brand Luke Tadashi and Tommy Nowels: “When we were in high school, we both played on the basketball team, and like the NBA, our coaches instituted a mandatory dress code of “shirt and tie” on game days. Similarly, within these restrictions, we found numerous ways of subverting the dress code but still technically wearing a ‘shirt and tie.’”
