French magazine France Football and The CIES Football Observatory have put together a list of the most expensive players in the world based on transfer value. As expected Argentina’s Messi and Portugal’s Ronaldo have made the list, though neither have topped it. According to CIES, the most expensive player on the planet right now is Brazil’s Neymar Jr. at a transfer fee of €250 million EUR (approximately $268 million USD). Second place goes to Leo Messi at €190 million EUR (approximately $204 million USD) and third to France’s Antoine Griezmann at €135 million EUR (approximately $145 million USD).
