Vans Reissues Salman Agah’s First Pro Model
The Sultan of Switch’s signature kicks get a Pro update in honor of Vans’ 50th anniversary.
Crowned by Thrasher as its Skater of the Year back in 1993, Salman Agah spent 14 years as a pro on the Vans skate team, during which time the California-based imprint dropped five different signature models for the former Powell Peralta skater. Now, in honor of its 50th anniversary, Vans is revisiting Agah’s very first pro model. Resurrected in modern day Pro form, the design sticks to the understated looks of the original and brings back its defining rubber toecap and elephant logo along with contemporary features like DURACAP reinforced underlays and ULTRACUSH sock liners. As Agah himself recalls, “The purpose of the original design was to speak to the future of skateboarding by producing a definitive skateboarding shoe, not to be mistaken for a shoe made for traditional sports.”
The Sultan of Switch’s Reissue Pro will be available from select Vans stockists beginning this Saturday, November 19.
