For quite some time, Lil Wayne has battled legal issues against Birdman and Cash Money Records regarding the release of new music. In a recent sit-down with The Nine Club podcast, Weezy gave a ray of hope to his fans as he revealed that a new project could be coming sooner rather than later. Although it won’t be Tha Carter V, Wayne mentioned its title being Funeral. A launch date remains unknown.

Throughout the conversation, Wayne expresses a load of optimism for the future, which surely creates curiosity for fans of the New Orleans native. As Tha Carter V still remains an uncertain mystery, Funeral provides a sense of anticipation and will potentially be the first project from Weezy since The Free Weezy Album.

You can take a look at Lil Wayne’s remarks in the discussion above, beginning around the 56-minute mark.
