In celebration of the Gazelle’s 50th birthday, UK retailer size? has teamed up with adidas Originals to create a 2016 City Series featuring four Gazelle colorways that pay homage to a city where a size? store is located. The first to appear from the series is the “London” Gazelle, which features a red and black colorway one may identify with the city’s iconic pillar boxes.
The Gazelle maintains its classic silhouette with updated material — the interior and lining is made of Gore-Tex, making the shoe waterproof, breathable and ready for any weather conditions. Sitting atop a gum sole, the bright red suede upper is paired with a classic black Three Stripes branding, with matching black tongue, eye stays, laces, and heel counter. “London” is printed in gold foil on the sides behind the panel branding.
The adidas Gazelle GTX ‘London’ will retail for £95 GBP (approximately $119 USD) and is limited to just 1,500 pairs. The shoes will launch in two series. First, exclusively at Carnaby St, Covent Garden and Harrods size? stores on November 25, and then for wider release in all size? stores and online on December 2. The first 50 customers to purchase the Gazelle GTX “London” from the Carnaby St store will receive a limited edition collector’s box.
