The series will talk about the divisive nature and booming popularity of gaming.
Nerdist just got the exclusive trailer for Unlocked: The World of Games Revealed — it’s an eight-part documentary series that explores the past, present and future of gaming. As the trailer suggests, the movie also tries to make sense of the many negative and positive reactions of the public towards the entertainment platform. This includes conversations about video games’ relation to violence, how games help sick people, and the booming industry of competitive gaming.
Directed, written, and produced by Jeremy Snead, with Brett Womble, Dustin Womble, and Sean Astin, other notable personalities you’ll find in the film are Michael Rooker, Matt Walsh, Kevin Smith, William Shatner, and more. Plus, for die hard game fans, you’ll also get to hear from industry vets such as Nintendo’s Shigeru Myamoto, Oculus Rift’s Palmer Luckey, and Vince Zampella of Titanfall and Call of Duty to name a few. “My goal in creating Unlocked has been to uncover the largely undiscovered landscape of the gaming industry through 8 curious celebrity hosts,” director Jeremy Sean explains. “From PONG, to Xbox One, to virtual reality, I want our audience to be educated and entertained as they are immersed into the multi-faceted world of gaming.”
Unlocked: The World of Games Revealed will release on December 15, 2016.
