Pixar Animators Show Their Somber Side in Short Film, 'Borrowed Time'
Expect stunning CGI, a cinematic score and more than a dose of sadness.
Telling the tale of a sheriff who returns to the site of a tragic incident from his childhood, a new six-minute film by two animators from the Pixar studio has just been released with typically lush visuals. Directed by Andrew Coats and Lou Hamou-Lhadj and featuring music by Oscar-winning Argentine film composer Gustavo Santaolalla, Borrowed Time is a melancholic triumph, showing the studio’s willingness to take on darker narratives that appeal to an older audience.
