Nike Brings Flyknit Construction to the Zoom Talaria
And transforms the mid-’90s runner into a mid-top in the process.

After being reintroduced by NikeLab back in March and getting a patriotic makeover for this summer’s Olympics, the cult classic, Tinker Hatfield-designed Zoom Talaria is back for another go around for Fall/Winter 2016. This time, however, the kicks are getting a tech update with the debut of the upcoming Talaria Mid Flyknit.
As you probably guessed from the name, the new look is a Flyknit-constructed mid-top that retains the aesthetic and DNA of the original 1997 runner. Swapping out its usual mesh paneling in favor of a Flyknit underlay and sock-like collar-bootie, the design retains the Talaria’s prototypical overlays, but applies them here with modern seamless construction. Another addition comes in the form of rugged D-ring lacing grommets while the outsole has been retooled to provide better traction in the dead of winter.
Look for a trio of colorways to hit the reworked ACG design this December.
