EATS: Rosé Poussin With Sweetchick NYC and The Fat Jew
Babe Can Rosé meets a spring chicken in John Seymour’s latest kitchen concoction.
Last year, we filmed John Seymour of Sweetchick and Brooklyn-based rapper-actor Joey Bada$$ as they concocted a quintessential Brooklyn dish in curry chicken and waffles. For our latest installment of EATS, Seymour takes us to his Lower East Side location to create a Babe Can Rosé chicken poussin with a little help from interweb troll, The Fat Jew. After marinating for 12 hours in the same brine as Sweetchick’s famous fried chicken, using rosé instead of water, the two lather their meat in butter and a special dry rub, before resting their spring chickens on an open Babe Can and tossing them into an oven for 35 minutes at 175 degrees. In the end, the two create what may be the perfect hangover remedy.
Although the Babe Can Poussin isn’t currently available at Sweetchick, be sure to swing by one of its two New York locations to try its delicious comfort food.
