Olivier Rousteing is forever expanding his #BalmainArmy and is proving himself to be quite the visionary creative director for the brand. The Spring 2016 season has arrived and he has revealed the images for the menswear ad campaign. They are dark, brooding and dripping in mystery. “Steven Klein, Pascal Dangin and I decided on a car-interior set, combined with strong shadows and sharp pops of light, to suggest speed and motion,” Rousteing noted. Unlike the womenswear campaign, whose images were ensconced in bright light, these guys had to use shadows to their advantage, showing off each piece in a finite space in hopes of capturing the complexity of the garments.
