Alexander Wang Opens First European Flagship Store in London
Featuring an interior that seamlessly integrates with the Wang brand ethos.
August 1 marks the opening of Alexander Wang’s first flagship store in Europe, located in London’s Mayfair area. A former post office, the store spans three levels encompassing a whole 625 sq. m., allowing ample room for both menswear, womenswear, T by Alexander Wang, accessories and the OBJECTS collection. Its interior is synonymous with the Wang brand — minimalistic and utilitarian, with an ease that seamlessly meshes with the brand. Designed in collaboration with Belgian architect Vincent van Duysen, the interior plays with differing textures and material richness.
The powerful space boasts sharp lines and a monochromatic color palette, allowing the clothes and products to stand out. Strong industrial design elements are complemented by the gray concrete and furniture, featuring the custom Alexander Wang pieces for Poltrona Frau. Marking the 25th flagship store since it first opened in New York 2011, this is surely a cause for celebration. Make sure to pay a visit if you’re in town.
