Nike Creates a Custom "Cooling Head" for Ashton Eaton
Every edge counts.

Like any other sport icon, Olympic champion decathlete Ashton Eaton has a variety of needs after an event. According to him though, the most necessary, immediate accommodation is also a pretty simple desire: he wants to douse himself with cool water. To that, Nike has answered (complexly, of course) with a prototype that draws inspiration from long-running ice hat designs. The Cooling Head is engineered with small veins that hold cold water close to the contours of the athlete’s face – offering an immediate cooling sensation from the top down. The Cooling Head will be tested by Ashton Eaton during his summer training sessions, as well as his wife and fellow Olympian Brianne Thiesen-Eaton. If Eaton’s trials prove successful, can you see integrating this one into your workout?
