If you had to think of a memorable moment at the MTV Video Music Awards, it might be Miley Cyrus‘ controversial performance with Robin Thicke in 2013. Recently, she took to Twitter to announce that she will be hosting the VMAs this year. Dressed in a green alien suit, she holds up a sign with the message: “MTV won’t let me perform, so I’m hosting this year’s VMAs.” Since twerking is yesterday’s news, what kind of outrageousness will Miley bring us this year, if at all? The nominees for the night will be announced on Apple Music’s Beats 1 tomorrow, and the awards will air live on August 30 at LA’s Microsoft Theater.
