FAKT Creates an Aluminum Cloudscape in a French Courtyard
Made of two thin sheets that bend and crinkle.

During this year’s Lively Architecture Festival, FAKT has unveiled a cloudscape made out of aluminum sheets that seem to be suspended within a courtyard’s grounds. The Berlin and Zurich-based studio realized this project with two sheets of 2 mm thick aluminum undulates, creating a visually engrossing spatial and structural experiment. Spanning a whole 6.4 m by 4.5 m, the layers bend and crinkle against each other, creating crevasses that allow spectators to peer in between the structure’s sheets. The structure’s reflective properties also create stunning visuals.
