In a short film directed by Pierre David comes the collaborative project between Desillusion Magazine and Australian board sports company Globe. Modeled as “a global network of counter culture artisans that are united by board sports, street fashion, media, design and film,” the ethos and direction of Globe has effectively complimented the crossroad of surfing and skateboarding on which Desillusion sits.
Starring riders Kaleb Ressler and Shawn Hale, the short film entitled “Violence Ordinaire” is a video lookbook gazetting the duo’s latest capsule collection. Shot purely in black and white with an eerie soundtrack to boot, the video follows two balaclava-wearing skateboarders through a number of settings from drainage ditches to quiet highway passes. Although the film is geared towards the promotion of the new collection, it is refreshing to see that pieces bearing the “Violence Ordinaire” slogan have been used sparingly to further enhance the composition’s mysterious feel. At the same time, the partnership has done well to place emphasis on the core cultures represented by both companies.
The capsule collection can now be purchased at Desillusion or Globe. To view more interesting film projects from Desilussion Magazine, click here.
