ASICS continues its celebrations of perhaps its most iconic shoe with the release of the Gel-Lyte III “Turtle” as part of their new ASICS Tiger sport luxury brand. The release is set to be twinned with the upcoming release of the Gel-Lyte III “Crane” colorway, embedding the shoes in the brand’s heritage and paying homage to the traditional Japanese proverb, “Tsuru Sen-nen, Kame Man-nen,” meaning “The crane lives for one thousand years, the tortoise for ten thousand.” Charming hat tips to the longevity of their brand aside, ASICS have equipped this Gel-Lyte III with all the usual goodness, including full suede uppers, paint speckle detailing on the sole and a custom sock liner featuring a turtle shell pattern.
