In a play on words that turns the phrase ’Fashion is Nuts’ from a descriptive observation to a literal one, artist Donald Robertson has reimagined the fashion elite. Recreating influencers of the industry such as Karl Lagerfeld, Kanye West, A$AP Rocky among others, Robertson uses walnuts as his central artistic medium to catalyze a dialogue on how the fashion industry is ‘wondrously mad.’ His motivations for his artwork stem from the idea that many people have come to view the fashion world as elitist and unapproachable and through his creations, attempts to break down these stereotypes, comedically. All of his pieces are photographed by Henry Leutwyler and you can see more of Robertson’s work via his official site.
