Twitter Is Switching From "Favorites" to "Likes"
A simple change from stars to hearts.
In what can be construed as an attempt to be more intuitive for new users (or ones coming from other platforms), Twitter has switched over from its “favorites” system to a more user-friendly “like.” The alteration does not impede much on the service nor does it drastically change the flow of use, as members can now simply “like” (with a heart icon rather than the star of which it replaces) a tweet and store it within a new “likes” tab. While hearts have already been adopted by multiple apps such as Instagram, Tumblr and Tinder (which also uses “super-like” stars), could this be a foreshadowing of how Twitter will somehow incorporate Facebook’s “thumbs up” in the near future?
