This September, adidas Originals is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their flagship store in Berlin-Mitte. The opening of the brick & mortar adidas Originals store in 2001 was the beginning to a decade of explicitly streetwear offerings from the adidas brand. To commemorate the celebration, a limited edition Berlin ZX 9000 was released that was inspired by the architectural composition of the age-old city. The shoes arrive as a “Made for Berlin” pack special release.
The mostly tonal pair is set in a combination of grey, metallic, silver and off-white with some subtle red hits on the outsole. Tastefully applied, the shoe also features small hits of 3M material throughout. Interpreting the city’s rougher side, the shoes were manufactured with a bleaching and pre-washing effect to give it a vintage aesthetic. Each shoe is individually laser-etch numbered and is limited to only 150 pairs. The ZX 9000 “Made for Berlin” pack will be available beginning September 10, 2011 at the adidas Originals Store Berlin where a “10th Anniversary Fleamarket” event will be held to pay homage to the store concept.
