A taste of the Detroit rapper’s upcoming album.
Danny Brown just released a heart-rending music video of his new single “When It Rain.” The VHS-style video hits hard with the Detroit rapper rapidly launching lyrics over a throbbing, sinister tune. Visuals include contortionists, twerkers and spontaneous static clips. Needless to say, viewers replaying the three-minute video will catch themselves singing: “When it rain/when it pour/get your ass on the floor.”
It’s been roughly three years since Brown released a record (Old, 2013). However, any devotee of the Detroit rapper knows he has kept his hands dirty on musical compositions with The Avalanches (“Frankie Sinatra,” 2014) and Clams Casino (“Worth It,” 2015).
