Last week, we foreshadowed Joe Hahn’s latest creative endeavor, the full-length feature film MALL, and its subsequent activations surrounding the movie’s debut. Amongst the most important complementary pieces to the movie starring Vincent D’Onofrio, Cameron Monaghan and Gina Gershon was the conceptualization of “BEAST ASTRAY,” a multi-artist show featuring several of Hahn’s closest friends and associates. Each artist was given the task of creating their own respective takes on the movie’s theme and storyline of five suburbanites linked together amidst a seemingly random mall shooting. Among the artists involved included Aaron De La Cruz, Dabs Myla, Edwin Ushiro, Estevan Oriol, Jasper Wong, James Jean, Mark Dean Veca, Mike Shinoda, REVOK, Ron English, Rostarr, Saber, Slick, STASH and more who filled the stark white walls of KNOWN GALLERY with the movie’s RX-7 taking center stage in the gallery. The show is open now until October 5.
