When one of the greatest singers of the past century takes on one of the greatest song in recent years, the outcome is likely to be classic. This is exactly the case with Aretha Franklin‘s cover of Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep.” The song will appear on the 72-year-old singer’s upcoming project, Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics, which debuts October 21 from RCA Records. The project is set to contain covers of timeless tunes by the likes of Etta James, Sinead O’Conner, Alicia Keys, Barbra Streisand and more. Franklin’s last studio album, Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love, dropped in 2011.
