Longtime purveyor of quality handmade footwear, Yuketen has branched away from the likes of moccasins and loafers to try its hand in reinterpreting the sneaker. Inspired by retro running silhouettes, the Runner 70 is a beautifully deconstructed sneaker design that strips athletic footwear down to its essence. Featuring a full-grain leather upper punctuated by perforations, details include leather linings and leather insoles, as well as “Runner 70” gold embossing below the collar. The leather hide lends conformity to the foot and is treated with vegetable tannin, resulting in a rich color and lush finish. Finally, the design is then supported by a jagged rubber sole for traction. Available in either White or Brown, the Runner 70 is available in stores and online for $365 AUD (approximately $318 USD).
