KidSuper Is Bringing DC's Most Notorious Villains Into Its Universe
From Poison Ivy planters to Mr. Freeze puffers, Colm Dillane puts his own spin on eight iconic characters.
Colm Dillane‘s world of KidSuper has never been about playing it safe. So, naturally, it makes sense that the Brooklyn-based designer would find some common ground with DC Comics‘ most notorious Super-Villains for his latest collaboration.
Joining forces with DC and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, KidSuper is bringing eight of DC’s most iconic Super-Villains into its colorful, hand-drawn universe for a new collection spanning apparel, home goods, and collectibles.
The lineup includes The Joker, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, The Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, and Bane, each receiving their own take on KidSuper’s signature Face Hoodie alongside collectibles inspired by their personalities. Included in the range is a Poison Ivy planter, Clayface bookends, a Riddler puzzle, and even a Penguin umbrella. The collection also features a heat-reactive Mr. Freeze puffer jacket and Catwoman trench coat.
“I always wanted KidSuper to become a real superhero character. And by working with DC and WBDGCP we are getting closer than ever,” Dillane shares. “It was really special to go through the archives and see the early sketches of some of the most iconic IPs ever created and to think they started off as doodles.”
To celebrate the release, KidSuper is bringing the collection to life through a “Rogues Gallery” activation in Brooklyn, featuring original artwork, objects, and installations. Open to the public from October 20–23, the collection will be available exclusively on-site before dropping online at KidSuper.com on October 23 at 12 p.m. Prices range from $15 USD to $850 USD.
