McDonald’s Japan is handing fans a chance to win an oversized Tsukimi Burger plushie, celebrating 35 years of one of the chain’s most recognizable seasonal sandwiches. First introduced in 1991 as a nod to Japan’s fall moon-viewing custom, the Tsukimi Burger now gets a plush tribute built at a scale that will not fit neatly on a shelf.
The plushie is the whole point, and it commits to the bit. It measures 27.6 inches, or roughly 70 cm, and recreates the Tsukimi Burger’s full stack in soft form, from its signature round egg to a chunky beef patty, smoked bacon, and a layer of creamy tomato sauce. Its soft, fluffy texture leans into the toy angle, making it as much a huggable living-room object as an anniversary keepsake.
Getting one takes some work, since it is a lottery prize rather than an item for sale. The plushie is available only to members of the MyMcDonald’s Rewards program in Japan. To qualify, customers first register through the official McDonald’s Japan app, then purchase three eligible Tsukimi Family sets and spend 250 reward points to submit an entry.
The entry period runs from September 2 through October 21, with lottery applications accepted until October 27. Anyone in Japan during that stretch has a shot at taking home the giant burger, assuming they can find room to carry it back.
