Summary

Studio BONES released a new teaser video for 'Gachiakuta' Season 2.

This is the first piece of update for the anime since the announcement in December 2025 for its renewal.

Production is ongoing with no confirmed release date, though 2027 is likely.

The Gachiakuta anime has now unveiled its first teaser for Season 2, offering fans a glimpse into the next chapter of Rudo’s journey. Building on the previous announcement from December 2025 that confirmed the anime’s renewal for a second season, the new teaser confirms that Season 2 is currently in active production.

Adapted from Kei Urana’s hit Kodansha manga series, the dark fantasy follows Rudo, a young boy falsely accused of murder and cast down from the opulent Sphere into the Abyss — a sprawling, toxic wasteland composed of discarded garbage. Reborn as a “Giver” capable of animating discarded items with lethal energy, Rudo aligns himself with the Cleaners to battle trash-born beasts while plotting revenge against the society that cast him out. Studio Bones continues to lead animation production, preserving the franchise’s signature gritty punk-rock aesthetic and vibrant graffiti visual motifs that originally established the series as one of the breakout hits of the previous season.

While the video explicitly confirms active production, an official premiere date remains unconfirmed. Given standard animation pipelines and post-production timelines following its initial greenlight, Gachiakuta Season 2 may be looking at a potential premiere window in late early 2027.
