  • TOHO Co officially announced that Dorohedoro Season 3 is greenlit for production
  • The renewal directly follows Season 2’s recent conclusion
  • Studio MAPPA and director Yuichiro Hayashi return to helm the sequel’s animation

TOHO has officially announced that Dorohedoro has been renewed for a third season. The announcement arrived immediately following the finale of the second season, confirming that the animated adaptation of Q-Hayashida’s hit manga series is already in active production.

The upcoming sequel will continue to follow the chaotic journey of Caiman, the amnesiac, lizard-headed protagonist, and his partner Nikaido as they navigate the mysterious magic of the “Hole”. To celebrate the renewal, director Yuichiro Hayashi shared a festive illustration of the demonic character Haru, while an energetic animated music video for Season 2’s opening theme, “Zettai Must Danmen” by returning musical group (K)NoW_NAME, was also released to ramp up the excitement.

The continuous support for the series honors a project that built a passionate, long-term global fanbase across the manga’s 18-year serialization from 2000 to 2018. After the series was first adapted into its critically acclaimed anime in 2020, fans faced a six-year wait before Season 2 finally hit streaming platforms in April 2026. Production continuity remains a core strength for the third installment, as director Yuichiro Hayashi (known for helming Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK) returns to take the helm alongside powerhouse animation studio MAPPA. While a release window for the third season has not yet been specified, fans looking to catch up on the story can find all existing episodes of seasons 1 and 2 streaming across major platforms, including Crunchyroll and Netflix.
