JanSport x Eastpak x BEAMS Is the Best of Both Backpacks

After launching BEAMS America in 2025, the beloved Japanese retailer is ramping up on stateside collaborations. In a follow-up to the recent Timberland x BEAMS collaboration, which comprised six footwear models, the brand’s next 50th anniversary capsule is a triple collaboration between BEAMS, JanSport, and Eastpak.
BEAMS is already a favorite of patchwork pieces like the Harris Tweed Balmacaan Coat and its Madras shirting; now it’s bringing its collage-like approach to America’s iconic backpacks. Bringing two VF Corp bag manufacturers under one product, the “Hybrid Pack” collaboration combines signature elements from both brands into a single functional and collectible piece.

The design follows the recognizable silhouettes found in school classrooms and on college campuses across the country. The nylon bags come in half-and-half constructions, combining JanSport’s wordmark on the top left and Eastpak’s wordmark on the bottom right. For contrast, the two halves of the design come in duo-tone colorways, as well as plain black and heather gray variants.
Both JanSport and Eastpak have roots in the mid-20th century; Eastpak got its start producing military baggage for the US Army. With both Americana and military heritage fused in this collaboration, it’s a fitting addition to BEAMS’ 50th-anniversary roll-out and its expanding US presence.
