GERRY is celebrating eight decades in the outdoor space with a triple collaboration that brings Mountain Research and BEAMS PLUS into the fold, anchored by a revisited version of the original “VAGABOND” backpack. The five-piece capsule pulls directly from the American brand’s archive, translating its mountaineering hardware and past outerwear details into pieces cut for everyday wear.
The “VAGABOND” leads the collection as the clearest link to GERRY’s past, with the three partners working from the bag’s first iteration rather than a later update. Each collaborator brings its own read to the silhouette, with Mountain Research’s research-driven approach to functional gear setting the technical tone and BEAMS PLUS lending its eye for classic American staples.
Climbing hardware carries over into the Slope Vest, which keeps GERRY’s triangular ice axe loops and cord locks as working components instead of decorative add-ons. The Mountain Parka draws its key update from vintage down jackets in the brand’s back catalog, adopting a double-zip closure that lets wearers open the front from either end. Both outer layers have been reshaped with a looser, more relaxed cut to suit daily use off the trail.
The final two pieces lean on brand memory more than construction. A classic T-shirt carries a heritage GERRY logo brought back specifically for this release, while a cap pays tribute to Sir Edmund Hillary, who relied on GERRY tents during the first recorded summit of Mt. Everest.
