HODINKEE Taps the Q Timex for Its Latest Limited Edition Timepiece

Subtle, understated and unmistakably classic.

HODINKEE is no stranger to treasured collaborations with various watch companies, a reputation evidenced by massively-popular past releases such as the blue Seiko Alpinist or the 10th Anniversary OMEGA Speedmaster. Now joining their ranks is an understated reinterpretation of one Timex‘s most popular recent releases: the 1979 Q Timex.

Opting for a clean white dial, the watch expert has removed the date window at 3 o’clock for a more symmetrical geometry, paired with a bare stainless steel bidirectional bezel that normally comes in two-tone colors. A “HODINKEE” inscription sits above 6 o’clock to balance out the signature “Q TIMEX” logo by 12 o’clock, while the rest of the watch’s design elements remain intact and true to its 1979 original.

“We all know what good watch design looks like, and the Q Timex is exactly that: a classic, recognizable watch that stands out on its own merit,” says HODINKEE. “That’s why, for our take on the Q Timex, all we sought to do was make a few simple tweaks to the already-successful formula.”

The new Q Timex HODINKEE Limited Edition is now available for $189 USD via HODINKEE’s online shop.

Elsewhere in watches, Fortis has unveiled its Flieger F-43 Triple-GMT.
