Summary

Eccentrica unveiled the V12 Roadster, a carbon-fiber, open-top re-engineering of the first-series Lamborghini Diablo.

It features a 550-hp naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V12 mated to a six-speed gated manual transmission.

Only 19 bespoke units engineered by former Lamborghini CTO Maurizio Reggiani will be produced.

Eccentrica is proving that raw 1990s nostalgia hits best without a roof. Ahead of its official public debut at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on August 14, 2026, the San Marino-based restomod outfit unveiled its latest creation: the Eccentrica V12 Roadster.

Conceptualized alongside Milan’s Borromeo De Silva design studio, the open-top build serves as an uncompromised, ground-up re-engineering of the first-series Lamborghini Diablo. Every single vehicle incorporates over 3,500 bespoke components, transforming the raw poster car of the era into an elemental, driver-focused machine. Led by former Lamborghini CTO Maurizio Reggiani – the legendary architect behind the Murciélago, Aventador and Huracán – Eccentrica’s engineering team completely reshaped the Diablo’s original silhouette. The bodywork is constructed entirely from carbon fiber over a steel spaceframe, featuring a widened track and recalibrated proportions. Beneath the panels, structural carbon fiber reinforcements stiffen the chassis for the open-top application, paired with double wishbone suspension, custom semi-active dampers, hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering, and a high-performance Brembo braking setup.

Mechanical upgrades target raw performance and driving engagement. Power comes from an altered 5.7-liter engine that delivers 550 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain receives redesigned thermal management systems and optimized airflow efficiency. Custom ECU mapping sharpens throttle response to suit aggressive driving styles. Drivers manage the immense power delivery through a traditional six-speed gated manual gearbox. The lack of a roof does not compromise ultimate velocity. The supercar reaches a tested top speed of 208 mph.

Handling characteristics receive equal attention from the engineering team. The reinforced chassis pairs with semi-active dampers to modernize the suspension geometry. Hydraulic power steering replaces older systems to provide precise feedback on modern roads. An updated braking setup ensures the heavy vehicle remains controllable at high speeds. Only 19 examples of the updated classic are scheduled for production. Each build acts as a bespoke canvas where clients dictate exact interior and exterior specifications. Pricing details remain undisclosed pending the official Monterey Car Week showcase.
