Amazon MGM Studios has officially unveiled the creepy full trailer for Verity, the feature film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling psychological thriller novel. The project stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett under the direction of Michael Showalter.
The narrative centers on Lowen Ashleigh (Johnson), a struggling writer hired by Jeremy Crawford (Hartnett) to complete the remaining books of a successful series after his wife, famous author Verity Crawford (Hathaway), is left nonverbal and incapacitated following a devastating accident. Upon moving into the reclusive Crawford estate to work on the manuscript, Lowen becomes romantically involved with Jeremy while uncovering an unfinished autobiographical document that reveals disturbing secrets about the family.
Directed by Showalter from a screenplay by Nick Antosca, the film is produced by Showalter, Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Jordana Mollick, Hathaway, and Hoover. Executive producers include Johnson, Lauren Levine, and Kerry Orent, with a supporting cast featuring Ismael Cruz Córdova and Brady Wagner.
Verity officially opens in theaters on October 2.
