RIMOWA has added Ink Blue to its Original collection as a new permanent colourway, expanding the German Maison’s palette of anodised aluminium shades with a deep midnight hue inspired by the lasting language of ink. The collection spans three suitcase sizes alongside Groove leather goods in Italian calf leather, a suite of denim travel accessories, and an anodised aluminium card holder.

The Ink Blue shade is produced through RIMOWA’s proprietary anodisation technique, a process that inscribes vibrant pigments directly onto the aluminium’s surface rather than applying a painted or coated finish. The result is a rich, uniform appearance with a luminous metallic sheen that the Maison describes as celebrating the inherent beauty of the aluminium itself. The deep midnight tone draws its conceptual grounding from ink’s centuries-long role in writing, drawing, and dyeing, materials that leave indelible marks and capture moments in time. As a permanent addition to the Original collection, Ink Blue joins RIMOWA’s existing roster of anodised colourways rather than occupying a seasonal or limited-edition position.

All three Original suitcase sizes are available in the new shade: Cabin, Check-In L, and Trunk Plus. Each is backed by RIMOWA’s unconditional lifetime guarantee. The hardware details reflect the Maison’s broader engineering standards, with a stage-free telescopic handle, the RIMOWA-pioneered Multiwheel system, and TSA-approved locks all colour-matched to the Ink Blue finish. A newly engineered ergonomic handle incorporates a damper mechanism designed to ensure slow, silent closure, while an updated Flex Divider introduces a squared design with a zipped storage pocket for improved internal organisation. These are functional refinements that speak to RIMOWA’s ongoing investment in the mechanical experience of its luggage, not just the surface-level aesthetics.

Beyond the suitcases, the Ink Blue colourway extends into the Groove collection with a Cross-Body Bag in Small and Large sizes and a Zipped Pouch, all crafted in Italy from soft, smooth calf leather. The leather goods are designed to complement the aluminium luggage while functioning as standalone everyday carry pieces. An anodised aluminium Card Holder rounds out the hard goods range, finished to match the grooved patterning of RIMOWA’s signature suitcase design.

A full suite of denim travel accessories completes the Ink Blue offering. The fabric, selected for its durability and refined texture, serves as the basis for RIMOWA’s first-ever reversible bucket hat, which arrives with an integrated travel pouch. Packing Cubes in Small, Medium, and Large sizes and a Toiletry Pouch Trifold round out the denim range, all finished in the same Ink Blue hue.

The RIMOWA Original Ink Blue collection is available starting July 9 at RIMOWA stores worldwide and online.
