SUMMARY

  • Hypebeast celebrated the launch of Issue 37: The Architects Issue at Stone Island’s SoHo storefront in New York City
  • The event showcased the latest print iteration alongside an exclusive SS26 fashion editorial inspired by California’s Mono Lake
  • Every copy distributed at the launch included a limited-edition Stone Island bookmark designed by artist Leon Xu

Celebrating the bi-annual return of Hypebeast Magazine, we partnered with Stone Island to transform their SoHo flagship in New York City to a temporary gallery space for the release of Issue 37: The Architects Issue. The launch event served as a multi-sensory intersection of subcultural star power and artisinal appreciation, anchoring Hypebeast’s ongoing print legacy alongside one of apparel’s most deeply respected innovators.

The gathering spotlighted the magazine’s three distinct, limited-edition covers, which feature skate superstar Tyshawn Jones, musical powerhouse Don Toliver, and art iconoclast Slawn. Beyond the covers, the evening served as the formal debut for Hypebeast’s latest fashion editorial highlighting Stone Island’s SS26 collection. The editorial imagery —  mounted across digital screens throughout the storefront — captured the brand’s newest garments against the stark landscapes of the California desert, directly leaning into the collection’s core design muse: Los Angeles’ historic Mono Lake.

Rooted deeply in the heritage of garment experimentation, the collaboration also yielded a highly collectible, limited-edition Stone Island bookmark for attendees. Crafted by Leon Xu, the piece features custom artwork inspired by the legendary Italian birthplace of Stone Island’s experimental dyeing lab: Ravarino, Italy. Soundscapes for the evening were engineered by DJ Dylan Ali, who also stars in the issue’s “Word Cup Wonder” fashion portfolio, while refreshments were provided by Stella Artois.
