Introducing the Nike Air Liquid Max, the next chapter of Air’s legacy. Teased by Yeat in a music video a couple of weeks ago, we speculated as to whether this could be the signature Air Max Day model for 2026. Now, following Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design collab reveal, the Swoosh has officially announced the silhouette.
When designing the Air Liquid Max, Nike designers enlisted a less-is-more approach to each element. For the Air unit, the key was replicating the feeling of walking on air as best as possible. This is accomplished thanks to the contoured Air unit, which is both flexible and low to the ground by design. Point-loaded Air distribution ensures it’s only present where needed. As a result, negative space is present, creating unique geometry for the tooling and a lighter build.
As for the upper, its futuristic mesh upper features a three-layer textured printing that not only adds visual depth, but provides support as well. This tactile component nods to the poison dart frog via its nanoprint. The dangerous amphibian is known to use color as a warning system, which is conveyed through the intricate pattern. Its launch colorway embraces striking greens atop a black base, combining with chrome Swooshes and a tinted, translucent outsole.
Get ready, the Nike Air Liquid Max is set to debut on shelves this Air Max Day (March 26) via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at an expected starting price of $230 USD.
