At Paris Fashion Week, Noir Kei Ninomiya unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026 collection, titled “DARK BLOOMING.” Centering on a theme of darkness and renewal, the seasonal range embraced an aesthetic that exuded gothic intensity with unexpected levity.
The show opened with sculptural, thorn‑like constructions and ribcage forms that conveyed a sense of confinement, heightened by Shinji Konishi’s intricate headpieces. Yet rather than dwelling in despair, Ninomiya’s vision leaned toward transformation, with flowers sprouting from metallic structures and whimsical animal figures perched atop models’ heads, suggesting a passage from gloom into playfulness. This dark, blooming floral aesthetic is extended onto the PUMA-collaborated sneakers.
A stark color story dominated by black is conveyed, punctuated by aggressive splashes of crimson and the cold glint of metallic hardware. Ninomiya played with high-contrast textures, pairing rugged leather biker jackets and deconstructed flight jackets with ethereal tulle skirts and delicate mesh. Metallic elements were a recurring motif, appearing as sharp, star-shaped thorns wrapped around the body or gridded wire structures that seemed to grow sculpturally around the models. Other unconventional materials included sponge-like fabrics shaped into “haunted” dresses with hollowed-out features, further emphasizing the collection’s surreal and introspective tone.
