New York-based apothecary MALIN+GOETZ has partnered with Brain Dead to launch a limited-edition “Leather” capsule collection. This collaboration marks the second time the two brands have joined forces, blending MALIN+GOETZ’s skincare and fragrance mastery with Brain Dead’s disruptive, subculture-led aesthetic. The collection is inspired by “frontier nostalgia” and the “interstellar edge,” reimagining the concept of leather as a material that is both timeless and otherworldly.

The collection centers around MALIN+GOETZ’s signature Leather fragrance, a scent originally launched in 2019 that features a complex profile of lotus flower, pepper, and clove, transitioning into a heart of orchid and green violet. Grounded by a base of leather, cedarwood and sandalwood, the scent is formulated to mimic the comforting, warm finish of a well-worn jacket. For this drop, the brands have reimagined the look of the existing leather candle and perfume oil, while introducing a massive new supercandle housed in a bespoke glass vessel with robin’s egg blue wax.

Launching on March 31, the collaboration will be available as a limited-edition release through MALIN+GOETZ and Brain Dead. Each item features Brain Dead’s signature graphic-led packaging, reflecting a shared commitment to design and art. The perfume oil is priced at $42 USD, while the standard candle is $72 USD, with the supercandle set to retail for $205 USD.
