LEGO and Ferrari have officially debuted the life-size 12Cilindri Spider at the new Build and Race experience in LEGOLAND New York. The monumental structure stands as a testament to the iconic partnership between the Italian automaker and the legendary brick manufacturer, expanding their global experiential footprint.
Tipping the scales at nearly 1,800 kg, the Rosso Corsa masterpiece officially claims the title of the largest LEGO Ferrari ever constructed. Master Model Builders dedicated more than 2,300 hours to meticulously assemble the 1:1 scale vehicle using exactly 554,767 bricks. The resulting sculpture boasts an astonishing level of detail, accurately capturing the front-engined sports car’s long bonnet, sculptural surfaces, and powerful rear haunches.
Realism remains at the forefront of the design, extending well beyond the exterior shell. The interactive installation features functional headlights, intricately designed carbon-ceramic brakes, and replicated door handles. Visitors are invited to open the doors and step into the crema-colored interior, which includes a detailed steering wheel complete with the iconic manettino dial. Even the vehicle’s license plate has been faithfully recreated using a patchwork of white and blue bricks.
The 12Cilindri Spider serves as the centerpiece for the new 150-acre Hudson Valley attraction. Beyond the life-size display, the Build and Race zone features interactive areas where guests can construct their own miniature Ferrari models. These creations can be tested on physical ramps or digitally scanned and raced on a virtual rendering of the Fiorano circuit. A dedicated DUPLO zone is also available for younger fans, making New York the sixth global location for the Ferrari Build and Race experience alongside Billund, Windsor, Malaysia, California, and Florida.
