Young Miko Is a Gap Girl

For Gap’s first-ever fully Spanish campaign, Young Miko has stepped up to the plate. Fronting the latest “Sweats Like This” visual, the pioneering Puerto Rican musician reenvisioned her recent track, “WASSUP” with a striking original music video. And, of course, the whole squad is in head-to-toe Gap.

Momo Boyd Shares New Single, “Strong”

Saba x No ID Is Back

In honor of the first anniversary of their From The Private Collection of Saba and No ID project, the pair has returned to the scene with another commemorative collab cut. “Paygrade Demo” was recorded inside Raphael Saadiq’s home studio, with a video of the sessions also hitting YouTube alongside the on-streaming release.

MAVI Reveals Clean New Visual for “31 Days”

The visual world MAVI continues to build out for The Pilot is striking. Established first in official videos for “Typewriter” with Kenny Mason and “Triple Nickel” with MIKE, the “31 Days” visual component now joins the pack and further fleshes out the project’s narrative world. Directed and edited by WYETH, Mavi’s “31 Days” music video is now streaming.

Mid-Tour, WHATMORE Shares New Two-Pack

Arriving as the first of a three-part series of “AA-Side” projects, WHATMORE’s first double-single of the rollout is here. Consisting of “2000s Pop Punk RnB” and “Still Loiteringgg,” the pair of tracks plays into the group’s nostalgic, Y2K-leaning lane of hip-hop-meets-indie music.

Samara Cyn’s Detour Drops Next Week

Preceded by now-out lead single “oooshxt!,” Samara Cyn has confirmed that her newest project is dropping in just seven days. Dubbed Detour, the lead single ushers in what a press release calls a “thrilling new artistic chapter” for the rising musician, bolstered by production from some of her long-time collaborators: Sherwyn, Kendo and Pera.

xaviersobased Enters His Baker Era in New Music Video

The visuals for xaviersobased’s recent debut LP, Xavier, have taken the well-received record to a whole new level. After playing a scientist alongside ksuuvi, Backend and Dj Rennessy in the recent “Tony Hawk” music video, the underground pioneer pivots into his baking era for the “Seen A Lot Of Things” visual.

James Blake’s Full-Circle, “Favorite,” and First Self-Released Record Is Here: Trying Times

Former Hypebeast digital cover star James Blake has lifted the veil on his latest ethereal endeavor. Arriving as his first longform release as a fully independent artist, Trying Times arrives at a pivotal point in not only Blake’s career, but for the state of the world. Across its 13 songs (equipped with just two features from Dave and Monica Martin), the LP hears Blake traversing through, well, the current trying times we face, detouring at feelings of love, loss, and impermanence throughout. Signalling his seventh solo studio album, Trying Times imbues traditional R&B tropes with more innovative electronic risk-taking, culminating in a release just as expansive in scope as the artist’s discography is in size.  Revisit our digital cover story here.

Jack Harlow Drops Monica

Marking his fourth studio album, Jack Harlow has returned with Monica. It’s not a rap project at all, and actually leans more neo-soul. Recorded in full at New York City’s storied Electric Lady Studios, the seven-track offering was inspired by the musician’s move to NYC, and features notable contributions from Robert Glasper, Cory Henry, Omar Apollo, Ravyn Lenae, and Mustafa – and not a single curse word. Yeat Is “The Most Dangerous Man Alive” In New Album Trailer

As Yeat continues to lock in on the ADL/ADL rollout, he’s added the first formal album trailer to the mix of visuals we’ve been privy to thus far. Spinning off the infamous Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man Alive” commercials made famous by Jonathan Goldsmith, the trailer reimagines Yeat as “The Most Dangerous Man Alive.” “He doesn’t just buy Chrome Hearts. He has one,” the narrator asserts over clips of the rapper scaling a cliff and sitting in a hot spring surrounded by bears. “Dangerous isn’t his middle name. It’s his first. Yeat closes out with a to-the-camera delivery of “I don’t always listen to music, but when I do, it’s ADL.”

Nettspend Follows Up with “masked up” Video

Continuing the momentum on early life crisis, Nett shared another anticipated music video from the project just about 24 hours after “who tf is u.” The next in the lineup? “masked up” with NBA Youngboy. After images surfaced of the pair posted up in a car, the internet concluded that they were on-set shooting the visual. This one is lensed with a different aesthetic, a bit grittier, and shot in Youngboy’s home state of Utah.

Slawn Drops An Album

Yes, you’re reading that right. After working closely with some of the biggest artists in the world for quite some time, for the first time ever, Slawn himself has stepped into the music world. In collaboration with Saatchi Yates Gallery, the visual artist is expanding his artistic ether to include sonics, wrangling a diverse yet dialed-in lineup of artists to have their hand at his 15-track studio debut. Entitled Not An Artist, the album was recorded entirely at the Gallery, which Slawn converted into a full-service recording studio (dubbed Slawn’s Studio), with sessions moderated by Central Cee collaborator Arthur Bean. Featured artists include Unknown T, Blackhaine, Obongjayar, AntsLive, Jammer, Cochise, Travy, Len, taves, Youngs Teflon, Tiny Boost, Reign, Kida Kudz, Yuno Miles, deeD0t, Kidwild and JELEEL!.

FINNEAS To Soundtrack BEEF‘s Second Season

Netflix and A24 shared the big news that they’ll be bringing on FINNEAS to score the next season of BEEF. “Spent the last 12 months in BEEF land,” FINNEAS wrote in a statement. “All eight episodes out April 16, All Original music by me. Very grateful to Sonny for involving me, very grateful for the incredible performances from the entire cast; I probably watched every scene 100 times while I scored the show and I felt it every time. True fan of this show, very honored and proud to be a part of it.”

The First Track From POMPEII/UTILITY Has Landed – and It’s a Two-Parter

If this is any indication as to what we can expect from POMPEII/UTILITY… we’re set. Following the format of the double-sided album – with MIKE handling one half, and Earl the other, all glued together with classic SURF GANG production – the project’s lead single is technically two individual tracks. Comprised of “Minty” and “Earth,” the first glimpse of POMPEII/UTILITY previews a few minutes from either side of the project, with MIKE handling “Minty” and Earl handling “Earth.”

Thundercat + WILLOW = “ThunderWave”

As Thundercat nears his grand return to the scene (consider this your reminder that his new album drops exactly six years to the day after its predecessor project, It Is What It Is), the musician has remained steady in the rollout. Dubbed Distracted, the record is confirmed to feature contributions from artists across the board, including Lil Yachty, Mac Miller, Flying Lotus, A$AP Rocky, Channel Tres, WILLOW, and Tame Impala, additionally bolstered by production from The Lemon Twigs, Kenneth Blume (aka Kenny Beats), and a few other of Thundercat’s close friends and collaborators. For the singles, he’s been consistent with dropping off these featured cuts, already sharing “She Knows Too Much” with Mac, “No More Lies” with Tame Impala, “I Did This To Myself” with Yachty and Lotus, and now “ThunderWave” with WILLOW. “Willow, the weeping, the whimsy, the whispy, the wizard,” Thunder referred to her in a press statement. “Grateful for the opportunity to create and spend time with such a beautiful human. Our journey together has been quite a fun one. Creating this song together, felt very much like the real us. So happy to be able to share.”

No one does it like Vans. No one does it like SZA. And no one does it like VANSZA. As Solana continues to find her footing as the footwear imprint’s artistic director, she, once again, finds herself at the forefront of another “Off the Wall” visual campaign – and this time, she brought the entire gang. Turnstile’s Franz Lyons, Hayley Williams, Travis Barker, Lizzie Armanto, and T-Funk all star in the Authentic-themed lookbook. All the new styles showcased are due to drop on March 12. Twizzy is on Go Mode right now. Ramping up his long-awaited A DANGEROUS LYFE / A DANGEROUS LOVE rollout, Yeat continues to assert himself as a tastemaker across the cultural zeitgeist, frequently showing up in spaces far beyond the sonic realm – most recently, it was the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Oregon. The rapper has worked closely with the Swoosh for quite some time now, but he now seems to be stepping into a more active design role for the imprint, bringing his equally refined artistic vision to some of the most sought-after in-house silhouettes. The latest? Some refined monochromatic Air Force 1s. Catch up on the pair’s full collaborative history here.

The moment we’ve all been manifesting is here at last. In a long-overdue collaborative venture, Day 1 creative partners Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE are finally dropping a project together. It’s not just any old project, and it’s surely not a scrapping together of leftover studio sessions or album outtakes, but rather, it’s a fully fleshed out, 33-track, double-disc venture dubbed POMPEII/ULTILITY, that comes dialed-in even further with full production from NYC’s producer supercollective SURF GANG. Everything we know so far about the project here.

Donald Glover’s Newest Character? Yoshi…

After retiring his Childish Gambino artistic alias after his last album Bando Stone & The New World, Donald Glover is doubling down on his next character arc. This time, he’s not building his own world, but rather stepping into one that is already fully fleshed out – and animated; none other than the mushroom-riddled Super Mario universe. Glover is confirmed to join the cast of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the sequel to Nintendo’s 2023 film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, as Yoshi.

nettspend Unveils “who tf is u” Video

Less than a week removed from early life crisis‘s release, Nettspend has presented his latest visual endeavor from the project – which has seemed to garner pretty mixed reviews thus far. One of the fan-favorite cuts is “who tf is u,” which gets a clean, cinematic,Kai Cranmore-directed visual treatment, shot on-site in the rapper’s home state of Virginia.
