Apple Announces AirPods Max 2
And they just might be the most “intelligent” over-the-ear headphones yet.
Apple is continuing its mid-March hot streak, with another key product innovation. This time around, the tech imprint is looking to level up one of its heavy-hitter audio devices, as it ascends its signature over-the-ear AirPods Max model to a new form, introducing the AirPods Max 2.
The key selling point of the new device is its improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), up to 1.5x more effective than the previous generation of AirPods Max.
Additionally, the headphones are powered by H2, allowing for new intelligent features like Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Voice Isolation, and Live Translation to come to AirPods Max for the first time ever.
A new digital signal processing algorithm also comes optimized for H2 and the microphone array on AirPods Max, ensuring a natural-sounding Transparency setting.
Spatial audio is also dialed in to a new degree, paired with 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio when connected with the included USB-C cable to ensure immersive listening at all times. The Lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio combine to permit music creators to ease workflow on Logic Pro and other music creation apps.
Colorways include midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue.
“With the incredible performance of H2, AirPods Max are upgraded with up to 1.5x more effective ANC for the ultimate all-day listening experience,” said Eric Treski, Apple’s director of Audio Product Marketing, of the new model. “The sound quality is remarkably clean, rich, and acoustically detailed — and when combined with capabilities like Personalized Spatial Audio, AirPods Max 2 deliver a profoundly immersive experience.”
The AirPods Max 2 will be available to order via Apple official retailers starting March 25.
