LEGO has officially unveiled the LEGO Icons TRANSFORMERS Soundwave set, a new 1,505-piece build designed for adult collectors and longtime fans of the iconic Decepticon. Launching August 1 for LEGO Insiders and August 4 for all shoppers, this model continues the LEGO x Hasbro collaboration and follows earlier releases featuring Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.
Soundwave converts seamlessly from robot to cassette player without disassembly and includes articulated joints, a functioning cassette bay and an interactive “play” button that triggers recorded voice and sound effects — a first for the LEGO Icons TRANSFORMERS series. The set also includes buildable versions of Ravage and Laserbeak that transform into cassettes and fit inside Soundwave’s chest, along with accessories like a laser blaster, rocket pod and display plaque.
The LEGO Icons Soundwave set, priced at $189.99 USD, will be available online starting August 1.
