In a meeting of German minds, luxe luggage maker RIMOWA and sunglasses label MYKITA have inked a long-term partnership for collaborative eyewear. The duo’s first collection — filled with ultra-clean frames spanning all sorts of shapes and tints — is coming on April 10.

The pair will launch their signature frames under several different series, all of which will be made at MYKITA HAUS in Berlin. The Heritage series, for instance, utilizes anodized aluminum and houses square, aviator, and panto frames, while the Visor series mixes light stainless steel with toric lenses. Notably, the latter series offers wraparound coverage and protection from UV rays, peripheral glare, and reflections, making it an ideal choice for the outdoorsy clientele.

“RIMOWA and MYKITA are two innovative German brands with deep technical expertise in their respective fields,” said RIMOWA CEO Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert, “both known for recognizable design features and innovative use of materials. With shared values on durability and craftsmanship, fusing our emphasis on movement with MYKITA’s focus on vision was a natural fit.”

MYKITA founder and creative director Moritz Krueger added, “Our collaborative design with RIMOWA is minimalist, essential and inherently distinctive, revealing the specialist knowledge in materials and craftsmanship that we each bring to the table.”

The first RIMOWA x MYKITA collection will launch on April 10, with prices set to land between €515 EUR and €595 EUR. Each pair will come with a certificate of authenticity. Take a first look at the lineup above.
