Corbin Returns With 'Crisis Kid'
A.k.a. Spooky Black, the enigmatic artist who got his start on SoundCloud has unveiled his first concept album in over three years.
Corbin – formerly known as Spooky Black – has made his awaited return to the scene with his first album in three-and-a-half years. Marking his third studio project, the Crisis Kid concept album sees Spooky Black grow up a bit, reflecting on the hardships of addiction and adulthood, inviting listeners into his isolated, existential journey, reflecting on his personal struggles over a lineup of esoteric, genre-blurring tracks.
“I naturally write about sadness,” shared Corbin in an official statement.. “I know people can relate to sadness – that’s why my older music resonated. But with this record especially, I’m trying to make a pivot, for myself and for others, to make music that heals.”
Crisis Kid comes with ten cuts and no features, including previously released singles “Carbon Monoxide” and “Come Down.” Corbin’s early SoundCloud energy is still present throughout the LP, though the album introduces a new guitar-led sound. Creative direction also comes from Hendrik Schneider, whos previous credits include the likes of Charli XCX, Drain Gang and Shygirl.

With the awaited album out now, the 27-year-old musician is also readying to head out on his first tour since 2017 with his nine-date, instantly sold-out Clown On Stage North American Headline Tour.
