Mario Kart World is gearing up for an exciting launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 and the new trailer offers a glimpse into what could be the most ambitious entry in the series yet.

Unlike previous games, Mario Kart World connects each track into one continuous journey. After every race, players drive themselves to the next course, creating a true cross-country racing experience. Two main modes headline the game: Grand Prix, featuring four connected tracks and the more intense Knockout Tour, where racers battle through six consecutive courses, facing elimination at each checkpoint.

New tracks like Crown City, Salty Salty Speedway and Boo Cinema join reimagined classics such as Peach Beach and Toad’s Factory. Dynamic day and night settings add even more variety to the mix. The character roster blends familiar faces with unexpected newcomers. Alongside Mario, Peach and Yoshi, you’ll find playable characters like Goomba, Spike, Wiggler and even a Moo Moo cow from Moo Moo Meadows.

New items shake up gameplay, including the Coin Shell, Ice Flower, Hammer and Mega Mushroom. Mechanics like the Charge Jump allow players to leap over obstacles or wall ride, while a new rewind feature lets you retry tricky sections, though the race continues without you. A brand-new Free Roam mode lets players explore freely, complete missions, collect hidden coins and take in-game photos — offering a more relaxed way to enjoy the world of Mario Kart.

Mario Kart World launches June 5 with a price of around $80 USD, or as part of a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle priced approximately at $500 USD. Visit the Nintendo website for more information.
