According to the team at MING, the 37.02 Ghost was designed without a primary focus on lightweight construction or extreme water resistance — yet it exceeded expectations in both areas. While previous models like the LW.01 and the 37.09 Bluefin prioritized those features, the Ghost achieved a remarkable balance of both. Weighing just 35 grams, it significantly exceeded its water resistance target, reaching 260 meters — 2.6 times its initial goal.

Inspired by architectural elements, the watch encapsulates the ethereal appearance of light playing off structured metallic surfaces. To bring this aesthetic to life, the watchmakers opted for Grade 2 titanium instead of the more commonly used Grade 5 alloy. Despite the material’s machining challenges, the resulting piece offers a distinct warmth and depth absent from its aerospace-developed counterpart.

Nearly every component of the Ghost, including the case, dial and buckle, is made from Grade 2 titanium, allowing for a uniquely brushed texture rather than a polished finish. The dial features contrasting circular and radial brushing, enhancing its brightness without the use of sapphire elements. This meticulous craftsmanship creates a refined interplay of light and shadow while preserving MING’s signature inverted design.

Beyond aesthetics, the Ghost integrates advanced engineering with practicality. Measuring 38mm in case diameter with a height of 11mm, it maintains a slim bezel and wearable proportions for various wrist sizes. It’s powered by an anthracite Sellita SW300 with custom skeletonized bridges and plates, ensuring durability and precision and a continuous running time of around 50 hours.

In the dark, blue Super-LumiNova X1 enhances visibility, while a grea goat leather strap with a titanium tuck buckle completes the design. Limited to 250 pieces, the 37.02 Ghost is available for 3,500 CHF (approx. $4,331 USD) through MING’s official website and authorized retailers.
